I passed my exams! But now I have a retainer

Yes, after going through all that worrying and panicking about exams, I passed all of them! I was so surprised at most of them though, because I did loads better than I expected. The really good news is that I have high enough grades to be able to go on and study the courses I want to do in college. I will mostly be doing ICT work, but I am also taking German as another course. I’m really looking forward to it, because I love being on computers. I now don’t have to have PE lessons anymore :D

As you can see in the post title, I now have a retainer. My brace was taken off last week and it is amazing to see how straight my teeth are after wearing the brace for so long. But now I have to wear a retainer. The good thing is I have to take it off when eating, brushing my teeth and playing sports. I am actually more used to it now since I first wore it two days ago, but the first day was horrible. I don’t want to have to tell you what it was like as you really won’t want to know :P But the good thing is I am coping with it so much better than a couple of days ago.

I’m sorry this is my first blog post in a few weeks or so, but I was on holiday as I said in my last post, and I also recently bought The Sims 2 for the computer. I didn’t actually play it much for a while after I bought it because it kept freezing so much that I couldn’t play it. However, after updating the driver for my graphics card it has been working fine so far. I actually have The Sims 2 Double Deluxe so I also have, with The Sims 2, the Nightlife Expansion Pack and Celebration! Stuff Pack. It is so much more fun to play than the PS2 one. You can have proper families, by this I mean adults and children, even Grandchildren! On my game there aren’t any Grandchildren yet, but I am trying to see if it can happen :D I recommend you to buy it if you haven’t got it already, the game is brilliant! Unless of course you are waiting for The Sims 3 to come out, which I found out from The Sims 3 website that it is being released in February next year.

I am going to stop typing very soon, as I am going to watch a programme on TV, but I will just say that my host Regina’s domain expires in October, so I will probably move back to Awardspace and just have mainly a personal blog with a few downloads and maybe articles.

Until the next blog, have a nice week!

I will always miss the pier

Last weekend I went on holiday and had a really great time. I went to Weston-Super-Mare and the pier was brilliant. But I watched the news on Monday morning and I couldn’t believe it. I was just going through the channels on the TV and when I got to Sky News, I saw a pier pavilion up in flames. I thought ‘I recognize that’ and then saw the words ‘Weston Super Mare’ written across the screen. Oh no. The best pier ever (in my opinion) was burning away and I was only there the day before. I am still shocked and really miss it. Although most of the pier is still fine, the pavilion where all the amusements were, the most popular part and where we spent most of our time, was gone. I also found out while watching the news that the pier was taken over by new owners only something like six months ago and already it is gone. I also heard that the new go kart track cost half a million pounds. I am so shocked about it. What makes it worse is that I was really excited about going there again next year; my family were excited too. Even though we can still go, the best part (in my opinion) of the place is burnt and so it will never be as fun as it used to. It was my first time of ever going there too, so even if they rebuild it I will never be able to go to the same arcade again.

Well, I am just going to look to the positive side of things, and look forward to a rebuilt amusement arcade. I hope it will be rebuilt as the main pier isn’t actually too damaged, so it should be easier to build. I heard on the news that the poles holding up the pier are made of iron, which is why the rest of the pier is still standing up. If you want to read more about what happened, here is a photo gallery on the Sky News Website of what the pier now looks like and here is a video about the fire from the BBC News website.

I am so glad that the pier was closed when the fire happened as it was early in the morning, so no one was injured. I would just like to say that even though last weekend was the first time I ever went to the Weston-Super-Mare pier, it will be greatly missed because it has been so far the best pier I have ever been to.

On a happier note, I am making a new layout for my site which I will probably put up in the next few weeks. I am also going on holiday again tomorrow for a week so there won’t be any updates or blog posts for a week at least. Have a nice week!
